My dry skin jumped for joy when my Pixi Hydrating PR package arrived, and I was particularly excited to try out and review the Pixi Hydrating Milky Cleanser. It can be hard to find a good cleanser that will properly cleanse your skin while also not leaving it feeling dry and tight afterwards. I know my fellow dry skin gals can appreciate that struggle!! After trying this cleanser out for the last month, I’m very excited to share my review with you!
PS – this product was gifted by Pixi! All reviews are vvvv honest though. Y’all know the drill!

Background Info on Pixi
Pixi is an affordable-ish skincare, makeup, and beauty brand with a wide range of products! IMO, they are slightly more expensive than your average drugstore product, but still much more affordable than mid-high range skincare products.
They have multiple lines within their skincare products that target a variety of skin types and skin issues, there is definitely something for everyone at Pixi!
Target is a great place to check out the range of products that Pixi offers and get a feel for a brand. At any Target I’ve visited, there is always a big Pixi display!
Is Pixi Cruelty Free?
Yes, Pixi is a cruelty free brand!

Pixi Hydrating Milky Cleanser Review
If you’ve read my Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist review, then you know my looooove for that hydrating facial mist. I was SO excited that Pixi released an entire line based around Hydrating Milky products. My dry skin was PUMPED to try these out. I have a bunch more to rest and try out as well. Previously I reviewed the Hydrating Milky Mist and the Milky Tonic, if you’d like to check those out at well!
My first impression of the Hydrating Milky Cleanser is that it reminds me a lot of the First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser. It looks very similar, and has similar qualities. Both are very gentle cleansers made to soothe irritation, and be great for irritated skin. They are both great cleansers, and it definitely depends on what your skin type is and what you’re looking for when it comes to your face wash, but I personally prefer the Pixi Hydrating Milky Cleanser.

My problem with the FAB Cleanser + other cleansers formulated to be extra gentle is that often I feel like they are so gentle to the point that they aren’t even washing my face at all? Anyone else feel that way? The FAB Cleanser is definitely soothing, but I didn’t feel like it cleansed my skin the way I would hope a cleanser would.
The Pixi Hydrating Milky Cleanser however definitely cleansed my skin. I don’t think everyone will love it though! It gave my skin that squeaky clean feeling, that’s how I know it really got in there and got rid of all the dirt and oil. But I know that feeling can be a turn off for some people. Normally it’s a turn off for me! Often means my skin is being dried out. However, after toweling off my face it did NOT feel dried out or tight at all!!
SO I appreciated the fact that it gave my skin a deep clean without over drying. That can be hard to come by, imo!
It lathers up really well, and is very rich and creamy. Has a not overpowering fresh and clean scent (but if you don’t like scented products, skip this one!) It removed all my makeup, including mascara, but I haven’t tested it with removing waterproof mascara cause I’m not a waterproof mascara kinda gal. Gave my skin a deep clean, but still very gentle and soothing. Never burned or aggravated my skin, and hasn’t caused any breakouts.
Once I toweled off my skin, it didn’t feel dried out or tight at all. It leaves behind this soaked in layer of moisture you can feel on your skin. It’s hard to explain. It doesn’t feel like anything is sitting on top of your skin, but your skin is more nourished and feels like a hydrating product has soaked into your skin. Not greasy, heavy, or anything like that. Doesn’t feel like you need to rinse it off. But somehow it leaves my skin feeling clean, soft and fresh with a hydrating layer soaked in. Magic??
I really don’t like the feeling of product sitting on top, or a product that leaves my skin with residue or feeling like I need to rinse it off type of thing. This isn’t like that at all!! It’s just infusing your skin with moisture!
This cleanser has become apart of my regular rotation, and I definitely see it being a must-have come winter time!

I’ve found my skin doesn’t respond well to the thick and heavy moisturizers and products designed for dry skin, but rather a few layers of light hydration (think serums + gel based moisturizers), and this cleanser is a great first step + first layer of hydration for me to build upon!
Side note – I honestly do think most skin types would like this cleanser. Like I said, gives you a deep clean, while being gentle, soothing, and hydrating. I don’t think that layer of moisture is heavy enough to bother oily skin, but if you know you hate that feeling then skip this one. If you’ve ever felt like cleansers leave you too dried out and your skin feeling tight, I recommend giving this a try!
Final Thoughts
The Pixi Hydrating Milky Cleanser is definitely something to try out if you have dry skin like me, and also find it to be challenging to find a product that is both gentle and effective. This will give you a deep clean and infuse your skin with hydration, leaving it properly cleansed and soft!
