The Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector is probably the color corrector I hear about most often. I actually was initially introduced from a favorite blogger who mentioned it was a holy grail makeup product for them. As someone who deals with dark under eyes, I was definitely interested in testing out the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector and seeing if it lived up to the high remarks it’s constantly getting!

Background on Becca Cosmetics

I was initially introduced to Becca Cosmetics back in the day when Jaclyn Hill did her Champagne Pop original collaboration. Remember those days in the YouTube beauty community…….anyways……

Becca Cosmetics formulates all of their products to give you a radiate glow, whether it’s a highlighters or a luminous foundation, you will be glowy!

They are probably most known for their eye catching pressed highlighters, but have a range of other face products as well. A recent one I purchased and am trying out is Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder, which is a moisture infused setting powder!

How To Use Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector

This definitely has a bit of a learning curve to is because of how thick of a product is. Takes some time to figure out the best application, how much product you need, and what works on top of it. BUT once you get the hang of it, it’s really a beautiful product!

To use this corrector, you dab a little bit onto your finger and warm up between your fingertips. It’s a super thick product, so warming it up a bit helps with the application process.

Then you apply to your under eyes and blend until the product has been evenly distributed and your under eyes have been brightened up!

I personally have found the best application to be with my fingers, and sometimes I will touch it up at the end with my Real Techniques Sponge.

On the Sephora page it’s suggested to prime under eyes, use this corrector, and finish with a brightening setting powder (all Becca products).

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector Review

I personally deal with pretty dark under eye circles. I think partially they are so prominent because of how fair my skin is, so they especially stand out. Although it took me a few tries to really figure out how to best use this product, now that I have I really enjoy it!

This color corrector absolutely makes a difference in how dark my under eyes are! Brightens them up a LOT and gives some much needed life to my eyes. Makes me look more noticeably awake, imo.

PS – I use the shade Light to Medium.

I use the corrector underneath my concealer and never have used it on it’s own. In the Sephora reviews, it seems like a good amount of people use this as their ONLY concealer. Definitely will try that out as well and report back, but I personally feel I need a bit more coverage than just this alone. However if you’d like to try that out, I do recommend setting it with a powder because it’s quite tacky.

Like I said, this has a learning curve. For example, you need to warm this up a bit between your fingers to help it apply. It’s super thick and can be a little tough to blend out. I also find this has applied best for me when I use my fingers, maybe the warmth is playing into this as well. I initially tried with my beauty sponge and it did NOT work well for me at all.

I blend with my fingers all the way in, and then will touch up just a little bit with my beauty sponge at the end. But you definitely could just use only your fingers if you wanted to.

Corrector on the left side, no concealer on top.

Also, not every concealer will wear well on top of this. I have a hydrating concealer I’ve been testing out and enjoying, and it did not blend out well or layer nicely on top of the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector. But another concealer did work really well on top!

BUT once I got the hang of this product I really really liked it. Like I said, brightened up and gave some life to my eyes, and really makes a difference in how awake I look.

It’s a good no-makeup makeup product, or would be good for full glam. Could go either way!

It’s a great value because you need such a small amount, so the pot will definitely last you a really long time. Mine barely even looks used!

Final Thoughts

If you deal with dark under eyes, I think you would definitely enjoy the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector, as long as you’re willing to give yourself a minute to get the hang of it!

I have a feeling any mom with a newborn would likely enjoy this product as well if you’re dealing with sleepless nights!
