Sharing my review on the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen, and I’m very excited about this one. If you’re on the hunt for a cruelty free sunscreen (or just a sunscreen) that doesn’t leave you feeling like you immediately need to wash your face off or that it’s breaking out your skin the moment you put it on, keep on reading!
Not gonna lie, I don’t put on sunscreen nearly as often as I should simply because I hate it. I hate the way it makes my skin feels, I hate feeling sticky and greasy all day, I always need to wash my hands right and get it OFF. I feel like it leaves this thick layer on top of my skin that I’m itching to wash off immediately.
BUT, ya girl is fair. Like being in the sun for 5 minutes and getting burnt kinda fair. Lobster fair. I couldn’t tan if I tried (trust me, I’ve tried). SO it’s been my personal mission to find a solid sunscreen I could feel GOOD about using instead of feeling complete dread around it.
I had heard some really wonderful things around the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen, and the fact that it was clear definitely left me intrigued. Supergoop was actually kind enough to send me some to try out (!!! cue the excitement) along with a few other of their products, but I dove into trying Unseen immediately. I honestly put it on right when I got the package even though it was in the evening. Hooked right away, so let’s dive in!

Background on Supergoop
Supergoop is a cruelty free sunscreen brand with the mission of redefining how so many of us feel about sunscreen. Sticky, tacky, hard to apply, greasy, breakouts. I know I’m not alone in having that opinion towards a majority of the sunscreens I’ve tried! Especially when it comes to facial sunscreens. As we’ve all learned from big bag Rona, we all touch our faces way too much, and I hate the feeling sunscreen tends to leave behind.
They have a wide range of SPF products that are formulated to be enjoyable to apply. If you are someone who typically dreads the sunscreen application process, Supergoop definitely is creating products with you in mind!
They have really interesting sunscreen products as well, for parts of your body you definitely should be applying sunscreen to but I’m sure many of us either don’t think about it or choose not to. A few to call out:

They have a wide range of classic body + facial sunscreens as well, but I thought these were a bit harder to come by and interesting that they carry! Definitely makes you think about all the areas that are exposed to sun but you don’t apply sunscreen to (at least I typically don’t).

How To Use Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen
The Unseen Sunscreen is designed to be the last step in your skincare routine, and formulated to act as a primer underneath your makeup.
It of course doesn’t need to be worn with makeup on top, but it won’t make your makeup slip and slide and breakup on your face when you wear this underneath, as some sunscreens do.
Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen Review
Long story short: I love this sunscreen!
It’s easy to apply, clear, doesn’t break me out, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling gross in anyway. That can be so hard to come by with sunscreen!
I really love that I don’t have to do much to apply it, no excessive rubbing my skin to get it to not leave white spots behind. And no white cast!
If you’re familiar with silicone based primers, that is exactly what this feels like. Glides right onto the skin and very easy to apply and spread out. You need much less than you think, I suggest starting small and adding as you need it. It’s super slippy and glidey, spreads out more than you think it will.
If you’re someone who is looking for a good sunscreen to wear under makeup specifically, I highly recommend checking this out. It’s great without makeup too, that’s how I use it most often, but just wanted to call that out.
I can feel it on my skin for a little bit after applying (without makeup on top), but it’s not a feeling that bothers me all that much and is much less noticeable than what a regular sunscreen would feel like. If it bothers you though, you can always lightly set it with a setting powder!
I realize this just looks like a picture of my hand but this is the same spot as above where I applied the Unseen Sunscreen. You can’t see it at all!!! And you can even see a bit of the blurring effects happening since it’s a primer.
Final Thoughts
This has very quickly become my all time favorite facial sunscreen. It’s cruelty free, vegan, reef safe, provides good sun protection for my very fair skin, and most importantly, doesn’t leave my skin feeling tacky, sticky, greasy or anything else. It goes on smooth and is easy to apply, and I love it!
Highly recommend checking out if you’re looking for a combo SPF + makeup primer, or just a solid facial sunscreen that is different than the rest! I hope you like it 🙂
