The bareMinerals Well Rested Concealer is a product I have heard about and has been around for years and years. I’ve only heard great reviews, but it still isn’t a product you see that many people mention or use. I believe it finally picked it up for myself when I heard Jaclyn Hill talk about it (I think?) but I am SO glad that I did! This concealer has quickly become an everyday go-to for me, and I can’t wait to share more about this amazing little guy!

bareMinerals is a brand that has been around for a while now. They focus on mineral based products, I think we all know their cult-favorite powder foundation! Remember when that was all the rage like 15 years ago or something?
They’ve since expanded their line, offering a wide range of makeup and skincare products, focusing on highlighting your natural beauty.
Is bareminerals Cruelty Free?
Yes, bareMinerals is a cruelty free company. However, their parent company, Shiseido, is not.
About The bareMinerals Well Rested Concealer
About The Concealer
The bareMinerals Well Rested Concealer is a loose mineral powder product intended to brighten up your undereyes, cover up any dark circles, and overall bring more life to your face to help you look more awake.
The original shade is Well Rested, but they had added additional shades for other skin tones. I believe those other shades are more concealing than they are brightening and color correcting, but I am not sure on that. The yellow shade is color correcting and meant to balance out the purple darkness that undereyes typically have.
- Well Rested: yellow ivory/ eye brightening shadow base for all skin tones
- Bisque: light neutral beige/ for light complexions
- Summer Bisque: golden beige/ for medium to deep golden complexions
- Honey Bisque: suntan beige/ for deep tan and dark complexions
Also, this concealer has SPF 20 to protect the delicate skin under your eyes.

Who Is This Concealer For?
This concealer is for anyone looking to specifically coverup under eye dark circles and discoloration on the face.

How To Use The bareMinerals Well Rested Concealer
Open the container and twist so that the holes are open and tap a small amount of product onto the lid. Use a brush or beauty sponge to apply to your undereyes. I typically focus on directly under my eyes and the blend out and down with the remaining product.
I start with a small amount and will build it up rather than starting with a bunch of product. I usually apply and blend out, and then will have one spot on my undereyes that could use additional coverage and will add more product specifically to that spot.
I prefer to use a brush – this Real Techniques one is my go-to.
With any remaining product I’ll add it to my nose.
You can also use this as an eyeshadow base to color correct your lids.
bareMinerals Well Rested Concealer Review

I was a bit skeptical that a powder product would work well for me, especially on my undereyes, an area that typically can highlight and accentuate dryness, where layering products on top only make it worse.
I was VERY pleasantly surprised though at how much I ended up LOVING this product! The bareMinerals Well Rested Concealer very quickly turned into an everyday product for me. It’s perfect on those no-makeup makeup days where you just want to bring a little life to the face, and on the heavier makeup days where you want your undereyes to look bright and lifted.
The finish is natural, and it doesn’t even look like you’re wearing any makeup at all. Just have naturally brightened up undereyes.
It’s one of those products where when you first apply it you’re like…wait this isn’t doing anything….BUT once you blend it out and actually compare it to your other eye without any product you realize the magic that’s gone on.
If you’re looking for a completely full coverage concealer, this is not for you. It is 100% not full coverage, and honestly concealer feels like the wrong product name for it. It’s an undereye brightener and color corrector! I use it to brighten up my undereyes and color correct the dark circles.
I also use this to set my concealer if I’m doing a more full coverage look, but honestly that’s pretty rare for me, so typically just use this on it’s own. That said, it does layer well on top of the various concealers I’ve tried it with!
Does it accentuate dryness? NO not if my undereyes are properly hydrated. I notice a different in how the product lays on the skin if I haven’t applied my undereye cream. Don’t expect to throw powder on dry skin without moisturizing and for it to look good!

I do want to share though that I have fair skin, and this specific shade, Well Rested, works well for my skin tone. I of course can’t speak to the other shades and how well they work for darker and deeper skin tones than mind. The shade range is limited, but I’m not sure how wide it would need to be as a brightening product, since it’s less about matching your skin tone and more about color correcting and brightening up the area. But if you have deeper skin than mind I suggest reading through some reviews and making sure it can work for you! From reading through reviews it seems like all skin tones enjoy this product!
Final Thoughts
All in all, the bareMinerals Well Rested Concealer is an incredible undereye brightener and color corrector. It has a beautiful natural finish, and really helps to cover undereye circles and darkness. It doesn’t accetuate dryness, as long as you’ve applied a good undereye cream!
This has become an everyday holy grain status product for me, and if you deal with undereye circles, I highly recommend you give it a try!
