Sharing my thoughts and review on the Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray, which is a mouthful! But this is a multi-use facial spray, designed with dry skin in mind, so I was intrigued and excited to give this a go and see how it worked for me!
Background Info on Too Faced
Too Faced has been around for as long as I could play with makeup. I remember taking a trip to Ulta in my teens and making my first *big* makeup purchase, all being Too Faced products.
The vision of Too Faced was to “create a makeup line that would celebrate individuality and inject joy back into an industry that had become rigidly led by rules, not fun.” And they definitely have a lot of fun products!

This is a hydrating facial spray that can be used in multiple ways. It can be used as a primer before makeup application, a setting spray to keep making in place all day long, and a mid-day refresher spray if your skin needs a bit of a hydrating boost.
Who Is This Product For?
The hydrating nature of this product definitely lends itself to dry skinned peeps. However, if you find you have a overly drying product on, or your skin is looking too powdery after applying makeup, this would be helpful for you as well regardless of skin type.

How To Use The Too Faced Hangover Setting Spray
To use, shake the bottle well and hold 6-8 inches away from face, then mist onto skin. Can be used as a primer, before makeup application to prep the skin. As well as a setting spray to lock makeup in place all day, as well as a refreshing spray whenever your skin is in need.
Also, this can be sprayed onto a makeup brush or sponge before applying foundation, to prime and set at the same time for a natural looking glow. It can be used on a brush that has highlighter on it to amplify the glow power. Finally, you can mix a few pumps of foundation with a few sprays of this in your palm to thin out and give a more natural finish to your look.

Too Faced Hangover Setting Spray Review
First, I do just want to call out quickly that I am not a liquid foundation kinda gal. Is that against the rules for a beauty blog? Maybe. I’ve just found that every liquid foundation I’ve tried looks horrible on me, accentuates dry skin and texture, and I look better before I apply the foundation. All of this to say, I can’t speak to how well this performs as a setting spray for those types of foundations! However, I’ll read through a bunch of reviews for using it in that way and share more below!
Alright, review time!
Unimportant but kinda important – the Too Faced Hangover Setting Spray smells SO dang good. Coconutty and refreshing. Loveeeeelovelove this scent! Not overpowering though.
I typically use this as a setting spray for my makeup, specifically my concealer application (under eyes + blemishes). I’ve felt this does a great job making sure my makeup isn’t cakey or creased, and is long lasting throughout the day!
Occasionally I’ll use a mineral powder foundation, and this works so well with that to create a natural finish and remove that powdery look.
Lately, I’ve really been enjoying using this spray with my beauty sponge while applying concealer. I’ll use my color corrector, then apply concealer with the wand, then I’ll spray the Too Faced Hangover Setting Spray directly onto my damp beauty sponge and use that to blend out my concealer. Makes such a difference in the finish! So much more natural looking, and definitely less cakey because of the moisture.
I’ve tried this as a primer a handful of times, but since I’m not applying liquid foundations, I don’t really notice anything going on one way or another. Don’t love using this as a primer before mineral powder foundations – I typically don’t prime before those.
It is absolutely a hydrating product, but doesn’t give you any type of over the top glow. Gives you a very natural finish and natural looking glow!
One complaint I have for this is how the product is actually sprayed out. I don’t love the mist, and wish it were a bit finer. Definitely recommend holding this setting spray far away from your face before applying!
Because of the formulation, I wouldn’t recommend this for oily skin. It’s a hydrating product, and I think this likely wouldn’t be what you’re looking for in a setting spray, unless you’re wanting some hydration!
In reading through reviews on how this works for foundation application, there are a handful saying this didn’t work as a setting spray, and a bunch that share how this is their holy grail setting spray that they’ll never stray away from!
Final Thoughts
If you have dry skin and are looking for a setting spray that will give you a natural finish and lock your makeup in all day, I highly recommend giving the Too Faced Hangover Setting Spray a try! It smells amazing and gives your skin a boost of hydration whenever you’re in need.
Comes in a mini and full size as well, so if you’re unsure or just want to test it out before committing to the full size (that’s what I did), grab the mini!
