The Tarte Sweet Tarte Perfume Rollerball was a complete impulse purchase when placing an online Tarte order, but probably my favorite one yet. This was the first perfume Tarte launched, and it’s right up my alley.

It comes in a glass rollerball tube with a screw on cap. The packaging is absolutely adorable! It’s a cruelty free perfume, and have a sweet and refreshing scent.
Fragrance notes (from Tarte):
- Top: orange, mandarin, passion fruit & berry
- Heart: passion fruit, lychee, gardenia & vanilla
- Base: vanilla, cedarwood, sandalwood & musk

I’m not a perfume connoisseur by any means, so I can’t smell all of those notes. The main thing I smell is a sweet vanilla, with some hints of citrus. It’s YUM. The more it dries down, the more I can smell some floral notes.
I know people can be picky with their vanilla scents. To some, there are vanillas that are too sweet or too childish. While I certainly can understand that not all vanilla scents are created equally, I definitely do not have super strong preferences when it comes to vanilla. I like them all!
However, this one definitely is one the sweet side. Although I wouldn’t call is childish, I definitely wouldn’t call it a mature vanilla scent either. Hopefully that makes sense. I find the citrus balances out the sweetness, but again, I’m really not picky with vanilla scents.

The Sweet Tarte Perfume is definitely a feminine, sweet, and flirty scent.
A key for me with perfumes is that I need to make sure they don’t give me any headaches. Typically ones with any kind of floral notes give me a really bad headache I can only shake with some Advil. However somehow this one doesn’t do that for me. It doesn’t have a very strong floral scent, so I’m guessing that’s probably it.
To smell the floral notes, I really have to put my nose directly up to my wrist. If I did that for an extended period of time I probably would get a headache, but obv not going to be doing that. Other wise just in passing, I mainly just smell vanilla and a hint of citrus.
I find that this has pretty good lasting power as well, although I’m not too bothered by reapplying since it’s easy to bring along with you. But I definitely have noticed this lasting for an entire evening, not for an entire day though.

My only complaint with the Sweet Tarte Perfume is the rollerball itself. I’m not sure if it’s just mine, or all of them are like this, but the ball seems to be a bit loose. So what that means is when you roll it onto your skin, a lot of perfume can come out. The first few times it threw me off guard because I’m not used to a roller ball causing a full drip of perfume to go down my arm.
It’s an easy fix though, I simply dab it on, instead of roll it. Again, this might just be mine, but it’s something to keep in mind when applying!
That being said, the cap is a twist on, so I have never once had a problem with the cap accidentally coming off and the perfume spilling all over the place.
