The Ren Flash Hydro-Boost sounded like an actual dream of a product for my oh so dry skin, so I of course had to grab it and try it out for myself. I typically gravitate towards products that have hyaluronic acid, because it’s an ingredient that can typically work wonders when you have dry and dehydrated skin.

This was the first product I tried by Ren, but definitely won’t be the last. Ren is a clean, cruelty free skincare brand, with many vegan options, and products for a variety of skin types. Their sleek packaging was a draw for me to begin with! But the most important is that they have a *ton* of high rated products.
From the Sephora website, the Ren Flash Hydro-Boost is “a water-activated hyaluronic acid formula that plumps and smooths while delivering essential moisture.”
If you deal with dry skin, I know that description enticed you as well!

The Ren Flash Hydro-Boost is designed to hydrate and plump up your skin upon immediate application. You will know right away whether or not this product is working for you! Which is a big positive for me. I get so impatient with skin care and always want to know asap if it’s going to work or not.
Not going to lie, the first few times I used this, I used it completely incorrectly. It’s not meant to be applied to skin and just left alone. You’re supposed to apply it to your skin, then wet your hands and massage into your skin until it’s fully absorbed. It needs that water to fully activate and perform properly.
So, if you’ve used it without water and aren’t a fan, I highly suggest trying again with water this time!
But when you DO use it correctly, it does exactly what it claims to! It was noticeable for me immediately that my skin was more hydrated and plumped up. It made my skin feel so much nourished, especially on the days where I was especially dry.
It doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin. It doesn’t really feel like anything at all on the skin, it just sinks in and plumps you up! Doesn’t make me oily, and doesn’t break me out at all.
My only complaint is that there weren’t really long term benefits I noticed of using this. You had to use this daily to notice the benefits, and it didn’t make my skin more hydrated over time with usage. However, I still really enjoyed this product.
I think all skin types would enjoy using the Ren Flash Hydro-Boost if you ever suffer from dryness. I know in the winter, no matter what type of skin you have, you can deal with some dryness here and there. This product is SO great for those days.
It’s basically like a skin booster, and is a great product to include in your routine when you need that little something extra to hydrate your skin.
