I have quite the stash of Pixi products I need to start going through, that were generously sent in a few different PR packages, and decided to start with the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser.
No particular reason tbh, just kinda picked one at random, and I’m always down to try a new cleanser. I feel like I get a grasp on if I like cleansers really quickly, but other skin care can take me weeks-months to figure out if I like it or if it’s working for me. My skin is super picky so I can tell almost immediately if a cleanser is going to work for me or not.
Anyways, that’s enough rambling, let’s chat about Pixi for a minute in case you’re not already familiar.
Pixi is are a makeup and skincare brand with a wiiiiide range of products. Target usually has a pretty good Pixi spread if you’d like to peruse the aisles sometime. I don’t actually think they are sold in any other retailer in store, but not totally sure about that.
I tend to have better luck with their skincare products versus their makeup, but I haven’t tried much of their makeup line. Although, I’ve heard rave reviews about their eyeliner. They are probably most known for their Glow Tonic, which is basically an exfoliating toner. Definitely has a bit of a cult following!
You may have read my review for my beloved Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist, which has reached Holy Grail status for me. Basically Pixi knows whatsup when it comes to skincare. They expanded the Hydrating Milky Mist into an entire line of hydrating milky products, but I’ve yet to try any. Plan on it when winter rolls around and my skin is craving some serious hydration.
So let’s get down to the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser Review.
The Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser is a “comfort cleanser”, meaning it has ingredients to soothe and calm the skin. Definitely formulated with dry and sensitive skin in mind, although the packaging states it’s for all skin types.

- Avocado Oil – conditions & replenishes
I didn’t really have any sort of expectations about the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser before I used it, but ended up being pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it! I’ve mentioned before, but sometimes cleansers that with formulas for sensitive skin end up not really cleaning my skin properly. Like yes okay I do have sensitive skin and don’t want to irritate it, but also I’d like for my skin to feel clean after I use the cleanser, yaknow?
All of that to say that this cleanser DID clean my face well. Including any and all makeup I was wearing too! Didn’t expect that at all.
Although it has all of those calming, soothing, moisturizing and all that jazz ingredients, I felt like because it was a mud formula it might end up being drying on me anyways. Most of my experiences with using mud based products with skincare end up drying my skin out, they just suck the moisture right out of my skin. Anyone else? Maybe I’ve just used the wrong ones.
This one absolutely left my skin feeling more hydrated and softer than it did before I used it. Such a pleasant and welcome surprise!!
Like I said, removed all of my makeup, even more stubborn mascara, without having to excessively scrub or rub my eyes. I also expected this to maybe sting a bit around my eyes since it’s a mud, but no stinging at all.
In terms of the rose smell, it’s definitely there but it’s not overpowering or too in your face at all. I tend to get headaches with most floral scents so I was a little nervous to try and of the Pixi products in the Rose skincare line, but none of the scents have bothered me at all to my surprise. You notice it while you’re cleansing your skin, but it’s pleasant and light, and then totally gone once you wash the cleanser off.
On the Target website it only has 14 ratings, since the Rose line of products by Pixi is a newer one, but the average review for the cleanser is a 4.3.
I think this cleanser is great for those who have dry or sensitive skin. It’s very calming and soothing, doesn’t dry you out, and adds a bit of moisture. I don’t think it will be a bad cleanser if you have normal-oily skin, but the ingredients just lend themselves more towards dry/sensitive skin.
So beyond cleaning your face and removing makeup, you might not really notice any additional benefits that someone with dry or sensitive skin might. If that makes sense? Still could be worth trying, especially if you’re looking for a gentle but effective cleanser.
All in all, the Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser is a solid face wash that I definitely recommend picking up!
