Today I am bringing you my Olaplex shampoo and conditioner review. The technical names are the Olaplex No 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo and Olaplex No 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner, fyi. I apologize in advance because, spoiler alert, I love them. And yes, they’re pricey. I was hoping to not find these products worth the hype or price point at all, and have not found that to be the case. I loooove love love them. So much.
To be totally honest, up until I tried Olaplex I was strictly a drugstore shampoo and conditioner person. Not that they worked all the well for me, but I just had a hard time wrapping my head around expensive hair products. Maybe I just knew that once I tried them, I’d never be able to go back!
(Don’t worry, I’ll still be trying out drugstore hair products to review here and will 100% be searching for quality products at a much lower price point!)

How To Use Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner
I think we all are well aware how to use shampoo and conditioner, nothing all that new here! One thing that Olaplex recommends, and I always did this with my conditioner no matter the brand, but to let this sit on your hair in the shower for at least 3 minutes. Give your hair the time to soak in all that hydration and nourishment!
Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner Review
Well, I love them both. I wish I didn’t. I went into using them being VERY skeptical that they would be worth the price point and hype surrounding them. But wow, from the first time I used them both I was hooked!
The shampoo is silky and suds up really well. I can tell it’s really getting my hair nice and clean, without stripping it completely. You know that feeling when you use a harsh shampoo and your hair just feels squeaky clean in a bad way? Hate that. This doesn’t do that at all, but still does a great job of thoroughly cleaning my hair.
The conditioner is also great! I typically focus on applying this from about halfway down my hair and the ends, then will take the leftover and work it into the rest of my hair. I’ll either finger comb it through or use a wide tooth comb. I actually notice a bigger difference when using the wide tooth comb, but it I move it around my bathroom and don’t always remember to put it back in my shower. Either way, combing it through in some way is a must!
Then you leave it on and go about the rest of your shower.
After rinsing, my hair is soft, silky, and smooth. You notice it immediately! Once dry, it’s less frizzy, and still incredibly soft.
Also, at one point I ran out of shampoo and started using a drugstore one in the meantime. I was hoping it was just the conditioner working it’s magic, and that I could get away with a cheaper shampoo. Nope, not the case. I noticed a difference in my hair when doing this Olaplex shampoo big time. Frizzier and more dry for sure.
The Olaplex shampoo and conditioner really work as a team to get your hair healthy, shiny, soft, and manageable. I recommend using them both together to get the full benefits!
Final Thoughts
While pricey, my Olaplex Shampoo and Conditioner review is that it is worth the price tag.
As a team, both of these products leave my hair incredibly soft, noticeably less frizzy, and healthier than before. Highly recommend!
