Supergoop has quickly become my go-to SPF brand, with this guy being an absolute holy grail for me, so I had to try the Supergooop Everyday sunscreen to see if it would live up to my other fave. Sharing the review below!

Background on Supergoop

Supergoop is a cruelty free sunscreen brand that has made their mission to redefine sunscreen and SPF products. Sticky, greasy, slow to absorb, and generally unappealing sunscreens are a thing of the past!

They create SPF products with skincare in mind as well, which was a much needed change to the sunscreen world of products. Supergoops line will leave your skin better than before you applied it, since so many of their items are created with ingredients that will benefit your skin outside of just protecting it from the sun!

They have really interesting and unique sunscreen products as well within their line of products. In addition to the more classic sunscreen products, they also have ones for body parts we often forget to apply sunscreen for (but should!) A few to call out:

  • Poof 100% Mineral Part and Scalp Powder SPF 45
  • Shimmershade Illuminating Cream Eyeshadow SPF 30 – comes in 4 shades
  • Handscreen SPF 40
  • Shine On Lip Screen Broad Spectrum SPF 50

Is Supergoop cruelty free?

Yes, Supergoop is a cruelty free brand! Reef safe as well.

Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen Review

Okay so first of all I am confused about how this is for both face and body. I have always had a sunscreen for my face and then a separate one for body. I feel like that’s pretty normal since I would want a more gentle and sensitive formula for my face, right?! And you might have oily skin on your face, but you don’t need that same formulation for your body. Am I alone in thinking you need two separate products?

Either way, this is a like not a love.

For face, this sunscreen it was a bit too heavy for my liking. Definitely a bit on the greasy side, and did not ever fully absorb into my skin. I could feel it sitting on top the entire time I wore it. I haven’t worn it under makeup, but since it’s so heavy I can’t imagine a liquid or oil based formula would work all that well.

That said, it has a lot of positive reviews, and I did see plenty of people say it worked well for them under makeup!

On the plus side, the Supergoop Everyday sunscreen left no white cast. The smell is light and refreshing, not at all overpowering. And most important – it protected my skin from getting burned!

However, I’ve found this other cruelty free facial sunscreen to work just as well and have experienced none of the negatives at all like I have with the Everyday lotion, so I’ll be sticking with that one. It’s my favorite facial sunscreen that I’ve ever used and I cannot recommend it enough!!

The Supergoop Play Sunscreen review

Now onto body, which is what I thought this sunscreen was for to begin with. It works just fine as a body sunscreen for all the reasons above – good sun protection, light smell, no white cast. I honestly don’t mind TOO much if a body sunscreen is a bit greasy, mainly because I’ve yet to experience one that isn’t. I’ve just accepted my fate, tbh.

This worked just as well and felt the same as some much cheaper options out there though. If the results are all the same, I’d rather spend less. Especially considering how much product you need to use to cover your body! Not worth the price.

Final Thoughts

My Supergoop Everyday sunscreen review is that while it’s not a terrible product, it won’t be a repurchase for me. As a facial sunscreen it was a bit too heavy, and I have one I like muuuuuuch better (THIS one!) And as a body sunscreen, while it preformed just fine and I liked it, I felt it worked just as well as less expensive products. I didn’t notice anything special about it as a body sunscreen, and at that price point, I’m gonna need to in order to purchase it again!

I do still have mad love for Supergoop, and recommend trying other products in their line – the Supergoop Unseen sunscreen is my forever favorite if you haven’t figured that out already! (review here!)
