There was a period where I was receiving Thrive Causemetics targeted ads non-stop, specifically for their Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara. I was very intrigued. It looked absolutely stunning on all the girls, and once I found out it was a tubing mascara, it was a quick add-to-cart-and-purchase moment.

Alright, so onto the Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara. Have you seen the ads for it too? Or are they only targeting me? I feel like there was a period of time where every ad I saw was for Thrive and SO many for this mascara.
From the Thrive Causemetics website, “Our revolutionary high-performance formula is powered by Flake-Free Tubing Technology™ for voluminous, show-stopping lashes that won’t clump, flake or smudge while Orchid Stem Cell Complex™ helps encourage longer, healthier-looking lashes over time.”
This mascara claims to “transform every lash with stay-all-day dramatic length, definition and curl to instantly create the look of lash extensions without the glue!”
Honestly it pretty much does do all of that. Although I can’t really speak to if it strengthens my lashes over time, not something I noticed one way or another.
BUT it absolutely adds length, curl, definition, and drama to my lashes and has quickly become my absolute FAVORITE mascara.
I love how it looks on my lashes! Never has clumped on me, never has flaked at all. It’s super pretty! My favorite part is how easy it is to remove, but I’ll get to that in a bit.

The brush is my preferred type of mascara brush, I honestly don’t know how to explain via text the different type of mascara brushes, so just check out the picture and you’ll know what I mean lol. I find these to be the easiest to work with, and I can coat my lashes easily no problem. Also helps to brush out any clumps!
I’m not someone who typically has super strong opinions about packaging, but want to point how how nice this packaging is. Have a bit of weight to it, feels super luxurious, and their branding is stunning!
A big factor for me when it comes to my mascara preference is how easy can I remove it. That might not be a big deal for some, but I HATE having to rub and rub and rub my eyes to get my mascara off and when theres a bunch left behind afterwards. I like it to be nice and simple.
I used to be obsessed with a Benefit brand mascara (they are NOT cruelty free!) I ultimately stopped using it because even though it made my lashes look stunning, it was a paaaaain to remove. Hate. I tried multiple removers too! But my lashes seem to hold onto every last bit.
THIS mascara isn’t like that at all. It’s a tubing mascara, which plays into how it’s giving off the lash extension effect. It essentially grabs onto your lashes and forms a tube around them extending beyond your natural lashes, rather than coating your lashes in the mascara like a typical mascara would. It’s hard to explain if you’ve never used it, but it’s great for length!
It’s also great for removal! I simply wet my lashes with warm water and the mascara comes off in full tubes from each lash. I *barely* pull at my lashes, like ever so gently, and it comes right off. If you have to tug hard or to the point where your eyelid is being moved, you haven’t wet them enough! They should slip right off.
It’s such a breeze!!! Takes all of 10 seconds, if that. I love. And even though it does remove so easily, it stays put ALL day no problem.
They recently came out with a brown version as well, which I likely will pick up and try at some point. For now, sticking with the black.
I personally have found there is a bit of a learning curve with the mascara to get the perfect lash situation. I typically apply one coat and BEFORE (crucial) it dries, apply a second coat, focusing on the middle to ends of my lashes. The second coat can be a little tricky, but the wand helps with removing any clumped up spots. I’ve also found using a lash comb in between coats can be really helpful in getting an even application for the second coat.
I’m someone that always gets mascara on my lids no matter what I do, but again, this is super easy to remove if that happens to you as well. I just grab a q-tip and get it a little damp and it comes right off! Even when I have eyeshadow on, it doesn’t mess up that at all.
I honestly don’t feel like mascara can ever truly look like false lashes, but this one really does give my lashes a lot of length and volume.
In terms of length, my lashes aren’t short or long, but somewhere in the middle. But the tips are blonde, so you can’t see them at all without mascara. This really helps to color in and lengthen my lashes a bit more, making them much more defined and bold, but in a natural way.
Important note – this is NOT waterproof. If you cry, get stuck in the rain, etc., it will come right off. If my eyes just get a little watery, it doesn’t come off though. But even though this is a favorite, I definitely don’t plan to wear it on my wedding day because spider legs running down my face probably isn’t something I want to have in all my photos.
Alright, that’s the ins and outs of my FAVE mascara I’ve ever used. I hiiiiighly highly recommend it!
