The JR Watkins lotion and hand cream in the lemon cream scent is absolutely one of my favorites of all time. Yes, that’s a bold statement. But it’s true! Honestly, it’s the scent that really takes these products to the next level, but the formula is equally as amazing to match!
The JR Watkins hand cream is a heavier and thicker product. It has a mixture of avocado oil, shea butter, macadamia nut oil, and cocoa butter.
I typically use this when my hands are feeling especially dry. Although it is heavier, and it can feel a little greasy when you first apply it, it does sink in rather quickly, especially for being so thick. It’s also great as a nighttime hand lotion to apply before bed and let soak up overnight.
It’s leaves my hands feeling so soft and nourished, and smelling devine. I have purchased so many of these hand creams over the years, and always have one either in my bathroom or in my purse. I’m addicted!
The hand cream is also great as a foot lotion. I don’t really like how so many foot lotions are typically peppermint scented, but this one smells amazing. I love using this in combination with a gel bootie, so the cream can really penetrate my skin.
One little complaint I have is about the packaging. As many lotions can do, it gets a little goopy and gross where the actual product comes out. It can dry up right around there, and you do need to clean it off every once in a while.
The JR Watkins lotion is a lighter formula than the hand cream. It’s made with lemon oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, and vitamin e.
I’ll admit, I don’t always love using a scented body lotion during the day, so most often I use this at bed before I go to sleep. Although sometimes I will still use the lotion during the day because it smells that good.
My preferred way to use the JR Watkins lotion is right after a shower or bath, while my skin is still damp. It seals in all the moisture, and doesn’t leave any greasy residue behind. It’s a very nourishing lotion, and has worked really well for my dry skin.
Both the JR Watkins lotion and hand cream have never once irritated my skin. They’re both so soothing, and I feel like they help to calm my skin down. These are always on repeat in the winter for me to add much needed moisture to my very dry and sensitive skin.
If you don’t have dry skin, these may be a little bit heavy for you, especially the hand cream. I think they’d still be worth a try though because as I said they do absorb pretty quickly, even while being on the thicker side.
If you have dry skin, you definitely will love both of these products. If you deal with dry hands or feet in the winter, or any time during the year, the hand cream is absolutely worth giving a try. Definitely the best foot cream I’ve ever tried, and a favorite hand cream as well.
I highly recommend you picking either or both of these up to try, or at the very least giving them a smell. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed in that alone.

If you’re not a lemon scent type of person, you’re wrong. JK, kinda. But JR Watkins has plenty of other scents you could try as well. They have coconut milk & honey, lavender, aloe & green tea, grapefruit, and pomegranate & acai.

If you’re looking for them in store at Target, they can be a little tricky to find. I usually can only find some of the products they carry, like the hand cream and maybe a bath product or two. The scent choices are also limited. Typically found in the “natural beauty” section. For more variety, check out the Target website for all possible options!
